Upon graduating the Conservatory in the spring of 2014 I remained in the greater Boston area until the summer of 2018, during which time I both remained active in the creative music scene as a performer and became busy working and teaching. Over those years, I was a part of the bands Aykroyd, Letter Castle, Particulars, Ryan Power, Los Greys, Every Kim Parcell, Listening Woman, and Creative Healing, among others. Hello! I am a trumpet player and music theoretician who loves teaching and sharing my knowledge with students of all ages. I graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Idaho's esteemed Lionel Hampton School of Music with a BM in Trumpet Performance, a BM in Music Education, a BS in Music Theory, and a Minor in Jazz Studies. I teach out of instructional books, notably books by Hal Leonard, Mel Bay, and Alfred. Sometimes, I use sheet music print outs, or draft up my own exercises.  I go back in forth in a non-conventional manner, adapting accordingly to the student's needs.  I like to incorporate exercises and warm ups to improve and enchance technique.  I also teach songs that the student would like to learn.  I'm very patient and rarely rigid in my approach, although I do stick to a general routine that allows a focused approach to learning. I also received a full scholarship to attend the Rubin Institute for Music Criticism. I earned my Masters of Fine Arts in Vocal Performance from the University of California, Irvine at the Claire Trevor School of the Arts where I sang the National Anthem for President Barack Obama at the school’s 50th Anniversary Celebration. At UC Irvine, I received critical acclaim for my portrayal of Euridice in Gluck's Orfeo ed Euridice, and as the Soprano in Pergolesi's Stabat Mater. Read More
