I think that, while proper technique and repertoire are important, it is essential that young beginners enjoy playing the piano. My job is to show my students that making music is fun! They were great at breaking down any problems i came across by teaching me new strategies and approaches towards learning a foreign peice. I started teaching while I was in college back in Texas and then moved to New York to pursue a career in Musical Theatre. I kept students from Texas online (some of whom are still with me today) and took a year and a half break from new students to do an international tour and an off-broadway show. As a teacher, I have worked on vocal technique and coached audition material with many fellow actors. I have also worked with high-schoolers on material from musicals. I am a very patient, fun and challenging teacher for all skill levels.  I have small recording studio in my home that I use to make demos for my students, or record lessons and backing tracks.
