I started teaching about 7 years ago independently. This has grown to me working with multiple companies as a teacher, as well as maintaining my private students. I also work around town in music studios as an audio engineer, so music is my entire life! I have a lot to show my students and help them grow with experience unique to me. I teach all ages, with my current and past students ages ranging from four to sixty three! Read More

For beginner piano students, I have two methods books that I use. For young children, I use the Bastion Piano Basics series. It is colorful, fun, and exciting for young learners. It is also very informative, so parents can help their young ones practice if they need the help! For beginning adult students, I use the Faber Adult Piano Adventures series, as this is more tailored to older students. It is less focused on colorful visuals, and uses language geared toward older learners. Read More
Instruments: Saxophone Flute
As mentioned above, I tailor each of my lesson to the individual student I am teaching. I am very encouraging and patient, but also like to push my students to be the best they are capable of being. Read More

The methods that shape my teaching are diverse, but at the core is the Dalcroze approach, which transforms music theory into a lived, physical, and intuitive experience. I begin with practical exploration and adapt each lesson to the individual needs, interests, and learning style of every student. By connecting movement, listening, and creativity, this approach keeps students motivated, engaged, and excited about learning. My goal is to help them develop not only skill, but a genuine and lasting love for music. Read More

One thing I try to do is find out what my students goals are and what their skill level is. Based on that I can shape lessons to that end. I have taught students new to the guitar from "The Art of Guitar" by Grant Gustafson. I incorporate things more familiar to the student as well to keep it fun and interesting When I was going through school, I personally studied in the following books. Read More

I have been playing the piano for twelve years. I graduated from Stetson University in 2019 with a Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance and from the University of Texas in El Paso (UTEP) with a Masters of Music in Piano Performance in 2022. I have performed in Italy, Florida, Georgia, Oklahoma, and Texas, on a solo level and collaboration. I have collaborated with many wind symphonies such as the Stetson University Symphonic Band, Stetson Concert Band, UTEP Wind Symphony, UTEP Symphonic Band, and the El Paso Winds Symphony. Read More

For children, I draw influence from the organization of the Suzuki method, while still maintaining the emphasis on fun. (Learning TV theme songs, etc) Fundamentals are introduced with memorable examples tailored to the students musical interests. For all other levels of experience, I encourage the student to share with me what exactly it is that they want to learn or need help with. If the student has no idea, I will take over and decide what is missing from the students repetoire, and find the most effective way of tackling these new skills while maintaining fun.
