For beginning students who are young, I usually start with just a snare drum. Learning stick holding and striking technique, and then move onto adding pieces of the drumset to play on. From there, I go onto introducing learning note values, and drum music reading. For adults, I may start the same way, but also discuss what they would like to focus on. Hello whoever you are, I am Andreas. I come from Sweden and live in San Fernando Valley, CA (Los Angeles). I started playing the drums at the age of 5 and played in bars when I was in my young teens. At the age of 16, I won first place the annual Swedish Championships in Drums. Quite an interesting concept, no? Next year, I won it all again. I have been teaching for over 5 years. I began as a private lesson coach and have been consistenatly growing with students for around 7 years. As well as song and technical technique, my students and I also focus in on composition, songwriting, improvosition, discovery of sound and direction, and artistry. I combine both clossical and modern technique's and combine them into a personalized lesson and practice plan for the student. Too much music theory can be overwhelming and boring to a new student so I focus on the fun side of music first. I've played cello and piano since childhood and recieved my Masters in Cello Performance from the University of Redlands in May of 2014. Prior to that I recieved my Bachelors in Music Theory and Composition from the University of Northern Colorado. I've also recieved a certificate in Film and Television Scoring from the UCLA Extension.
