My teaching style is is a combination of an active and exciting engagement with the student but with a no-pressure relaxed environment that the student can be comfortable in. I fully invest myself into each of my students and keep track of their progress diligently to be sure to cater to their needs. I try to teach things both visually and by ear, so that the student does not feel that they have to wait to play fun music until they are advanced enough. With my bass students, I begin with basic technique and ear training. My first goal for a student is to learn one of their favorite simple folk songs by ear, while also developing basic musical skills and instrumental technique. I believe that it is extremely important to begin developing a students aural abilities and creativity early on.
