If they are frustrated, I work out the problem with them. If they are very eager to learn a specific exercise, then I stay out of their way but remain present to lend a guiding hand. I will work invariably though with all students in building a solid vocal technique based on singing with the air flow and always promoting a healthy tone quality. Methods heavily depend on student. Everyone learns differently. I typically provide anything you may need, or can point you to libraries/databases. I heavily focus on tone and fundamentals, so applying it to the music comes seamlessly. For tone, I like both Phillip Bernold books, on embouchure and sound. Sonorite by Moyse as well. I am a teacher who looks to make music both fun and rewarding. As well as teaching the student how to make beautiful music, I also try and tie in our lessons as a way to becoming a better citizen. The habits that we form as a musicians will help us as individuals.
