I was honored to serve over 500 students by enriching their arts education, and was inspired daily by their creativity, enthusiasm, and individualism. I began studying the clarinet at age 8, and graduated from the Eastman School of Music in May of 2017. I have had the opportunity to study at the Brevard Music Center and the Aspen Music Festival, where I performed both with student and faculty orchestras. Prior to beginning my collegiate studies, I was fortunate to take part in the inaugural year of the National Youth Orchestra of the United States through Carnegie Hall's Weill Education Institute. My teaching experience dates back to when I was back in Brazil, teaching privately young students and also adults. Here in New York, I have been teaching privately as well as writing various articles to drum magazines such as Modern Drummer Magazine, Drum! and recently I have a column in Drumhead Magazine called Brazilian Beat. I am a very all around drummer and teacher being exposed, researched and performed many different styles of music, not only Brazilian enabling me to pass along some knowledge in many different types of music. I use String Builder, Essential Elements, etudes, technical studies for each instrument and Suzuki Methods for strings and essential elements for clarinet. I emphasize good posture, holding the instrument and bow properly and correct finger placement. Also learning to play scales and music to prepare for auditions and a recital. I also teach students music theory and sight reading and assist with orchestral music.
