I have been teaching music in public schools for the last 5 years. I graduated from Keene State College in 2013 with a degree in Music Education and a focus on Instrumental Music. In 2016 I went to and graduated from the US Army School of Music as a tenor saxophone player. During my time at the school of music I also played the alto and baritone saxophones. Depending on the level of the student, there are three structures of lessons I provide.The course for beginners includes introduction to sound, keyboard of piano, touch, playing from the scores, synchronization of hands. It is taught with easy classic exercises and well-known pieces like Scarlatti sonatas,Czerni etudes and Bach's two/three voice inventions. During intermediate level course the main focus is on pedals, basic dynamics of performance, two-three voice patterns and phrasing, Finally, the last but not least, the course for advanced students includes introduction to the form of classical sonatas of Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, virtuoso etudes of Chopin, Liszt, more complex articulation and more complex romantic pieces like Hungarian Rhapsodies,Ballads and Scherzi. Having learned from the philosophies of many of the great brass pedagogues of our time, I am knowledgeable about how to most efficiently play the trumpet well. I am knowledgeable in the techniques of Cichowicz, Schlossberg, and Jacobs and apply these different philosophies of brass playing to each of my students.
