I graduated from Berklee College of Music in 2006 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Business/Management (principal instruments: violin and voice). My career in the music industry has ranged from artist management, record labels, and recording studio management all while teaching violin and voice in my spare time. My teaching experience dates back to my college days, as I began teaching private lessons part time 4 years ago, and have been consistently teaching students in my home studio for the last 2 years. Encouraging regular practice on a consistent schedule is one of the key points I like to emphasize for younger students, as it tends to help the student progress and gain a passion for the instrument. I've also found that a combination of classical and folk music can go a long way in helping students enjoy the violin and motivate them to practice and continue to learn. Read More

Also performing in concerts gives them goals to work for so I try to have my students to perform at some assisted living places and more several times a year and the more they perform usually the better they improve. It can be encouraging to see that others make mistakes too and that noone is perfect. I like students to learn how to read as soon as they can, but I honor the suzuki idea that it is good to learn to play the first few pieces by ear so listening does not get lost in learning to read.
