Once I have an idea of what the student wants to accomplish it becomes easy to customize a plan for each student's development. I am a firm believer in showing rather than telling. I always have at least one type of saxophone with me during lessons if not more. For example, if I have a student who is taking baritone saxophone lessons, then I will have a baritone saxophone with me. I encourage students to focus on what things feel like, and describe them, so that we can focus on what is working well!
