I have a love and passion for music and I am equally passionate about passing on all of the knowledge I have gained over my years to the students I get to work with. In 2013, I graduated from Berklee College of Music with a degree in Electric Bass Performance. At Berklee, I was mentored by some of the most amazing musicians in the world and I am delighted to get opportunities to mentor others like I was while in school. Read More

When I think about a student learning wintry to put myself in there shoes. They want to feel like they have something to show for the time that they were the class session. . if we have an hour session and at the end of the session they can go out and show off what they learned then they will. It be as motivated to come back.... So my method is to teach them while at the same time giving a practical aspect where they have something that can show and practice to develop the skill learned in the proviso session. Read More

I believe in creating individual course plans for each student. I always ask what the student wants to learn and if he has any particular songs he wants to learn to play. I try to teach him something basic as soon as possible that he can share with family and friends. This helps keep him interested. I teach how to hold and tune a guitar, left hand positioning, using all four fretting fingers and other basics. Read More

I am enthusiastic about sharing all that I have learned with future students. I have given many different solo and collaborative performances all over the eastern United States. In the collaborative field, I have accompanied vocalists and instrumentalists. I have been the principal pianist in various orchestras and have performed piano in many different ensembles that championed traditional and contemporary works. I have also much experience in performing and studying jazz studies or popular music if this is where the student's interest lies. Read More

I have been experiencing the love of playing and performing music for 40 years and still find it challenging to this day. Music is a journey of the senses which can open and expand our minds. For the first 11 years of my musical journey, I journeyed hours and hours in the discovery of the rhythms, notes and expression but I journeyed in solitude. What a wonderful joy wasawaiting me when I discovered how much fun it was to make music as part of an ensemble or as I like to think of it, a team.A musical team can be a band, an orchestra, a chorus, a churchchoir,a quartet, ora duet, and in all cases it is exhilarating to make music with other people.I hope that I can guide and encourage my students to learn to enjoy this journey that can provide a life time of adventure, social interaction and creativity. I believe that learning an instrument must be taught from all three approaches: tactile, aural, and visual. I incorporate all three of these into each lesson so the student can walk away feeling like she has gotten closer to her instrument! For young students, I follow a Suzuki approach where a parent or guardian plays a vital role in practicing and musical development. I use the Suzuki books, a reliable source for musical progress, as well as some American fiddlin' tunes from the O'Connor Method Books. Read More

Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students develop a passion for music! Therefore, it's important that each student progresses at his or her own pace. I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson. Acknowledging accomplishments helps fuel a students desire to progress, and makes students eager to learn more. By trying to find out what inspires the student, I can successfully tailor my instruction to accomplishing that wants and needs their wants and needs. Read More
