Once I am comfortable with a solid foundation of Trumpet fundamentals I will add solo trumpet literature into the lessons and assignments so that there is a balance between technical exercises and trumpet literature. I use a combination of books for flute students since they are better suitable for flute study. Some of them are for example; Gariboldi execerses and Trevor Wye along with several books with simple flute solos for beginners. For more advanced students there is also i wide variety of Etude books such as Kohler etudes or Anderson studies.
