I love working with students of any age to give them the fundamentals and technique to play music they love!  I have a technology-focused teaching philosophy, utilitzing recordings, music theory software, et cetera to assist my traditional teaching techniques.  I am very much an avid freelance performer all over the city and expose my students to real-world musical environments whenever possible!

I care about impacting the city of Cincinnati through music.  I grew up in Florence Kentucky and have had amazing opportunities to travel internationally and perform thanks to music.  I am passionate about sharing my knowledge and experiences with my students.  I am a very active professional singing with the Cincinnati Opera, Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, the Vocal Arts Ensemble, Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra, and North American New Opera Workshop.  I love the balance of a busy teaching and performace schdule!

Active, engaging, and of course, fun! I try to be as thorough as possible without overloading my student with information. The biggest challenge in the beginning is learning about you as a student and how you learn. Obviously learning an instrument is very aurally challenging, however there many ways of learning: aural, visual, tactile, etc. The more you know about your own preferred learning style, the more smoothly our lessons will start out.

I help others discover their own sound...their own voice.  That is what I hope for all future generations. Not to sound like anyone else, but to sound like themselves. It's not always about knowlege, or technique, but it's about style and imagination. I will use all those things as a teacher.  My goal is for my students to work with what they have in the way that works best for them. Each student will be unique, and will be taught differently. It depends on the student as far as their skill level. I can start with scales, and basic warm ups, and move on to songs that they like that is within their level. I want the student to enjoy coming to a lesson, so I will pick songs or they will pick songs that they like, and if I feel they are up to the challenge, we will work on those songs. But in the mean time, work on techniques, musically, and  breathing techniques, finding a method that will work to correct the weaknesses they have. Each student learns differently, so its about finding the method that works for that particular student. We will work on range, pitch (if thats an issue), vocal warm ups, diction (English or any other language they are up to learning...again it depends on their skill level), and more.

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
