I have been teaching piano for a year so far and it has been one of the highlights of my musical life. I love to find innovative and fun ways to make music theory and technique easier to understand for young minds. My #1 goal as a teacher is help students grow a passion for music, and equip them with tools to use for a future of music-making and music-enjoying. Hence, Ive developed a teaching studio that gives the student an immersive audio/video supplement. Their sound feed includes song audio, my live voice-guidance, and/or metronome, and a video feed from 4 cameras, from kit overview to focus on feet or the white-board for notation. In Fall of 2021, I produced the following promotional video for my service in-person and/or remote lessons to learn and enjoy the drum kit. I believe that the first thing you have to have is a good fundamental foundation. I always start with breathing correctly and assembling the instrument before playing notes. The core concepts I teach in the beginning are tone, dexterity, and tonguing. As for specific exercises, no two students are the same. For Voice I cater my teaching to the student's goals and aspirations. The first 10-15 minutes of a lessons are spent doing vocal warmups and sightsinging exercises. The remaining time is spent working on repertoire that the student and myself choose together. For Piano I work out of the Faber Piano Adventure Books. I am a guitar teacher and music educator based in Flemington, NJ. In 2012, I graduated from the Berklee College of Music (Magna Cum Laude) with a BM in Audio Engineering and Composition. I went on to complete my Masters in Musicology from Boston University, where I wrote my thesis on non-worded religious musics set by Estonian contemporary composer, Arvo Prt.
