I started playing when I was 13 and have mastered several instruments since. My forte is electric bass guitar, although I can also teach electric guitar to an advanced level. I moved to LA to go to a very prestigious music school, Musicians Institute of Hollywood. I studied in the bass guitar program winning the top bass scholarship that is given out at the school, earning my A.A. My approach as a teacher is to see what the voice is already doing and improve on the foundation that we already have. All music-making is positive music-making. My students love that I laugh and chat with them during our lessons. I primarily teach Musical theater and characterization, but I can also teach classical music and diction (languages). I believe that style, voice phenomenons, language/diction, artistic innovation, decision-making, characterization, and active choice-making are the best ways to get someone to make great music. I began teaching privately in the greater Milwaukee area in 2012. With my help and motivation, a fifth grader decided to keep his flute and play in his beginning band, despite his families' circumstances. Later, I picked up an interested eighth grader, who eventually received a Gold at regional solo contest and also made the all-state band.
