As a musician, I believe that while learning and making music it is important not only to learn the fundamental techniques required for the instrument, but to have fun while playing. Playing and making music should be an enjoyable past time for all people of all ages, without judgement because of skill level or genre. Because of these beliefs, I try to diversify my playing in all genres on many different instruments in order to remove any biases against genres, and learn the true art behind all types of music, no matter how simple it may be. Adapting to a single teaching system would be perfect if we were all the same, but since we are not, it is important to change and be able to adapt to any educational situation or scenario that may arise. If one of the students does not understand a concept, you cannot continue without finding a better explanation so that the student fully understands the concept or technique explained. After all, the basic task of a good educator is to clear all the doubts that any student may have. Read More

I am a young and engaging teacher. I graduated Summa Cum Laude from Nyack College with a degree in Music Education. I am a scholarship winning pianist with experience both in the classical and contemporary realms. I am also an advanced violinist and have served as the concert master in both the Molloy College and Nyack College orchestras. I have performed in four countries and recently accompanied the Nyack College Chorale in Lincoln Center. Read More
Instruments: Flute
My teaching style centers around a solid foundation of flute technique paired with instilling a love and appreciation for music. I agree with the famous flutist Pierre Rampal who said: The flute is just a pipe, like a paintbrush is to an artist. Why would anyone think of a paintbrush when looking at a painting? My goal is to help my sudents play with ease so that the music sounds effortless. Read More
Instruments: Trumpet
To date I have been teaching trumpet lessons for two years, which began during my senior year of college. Although I've only had a few students, the instruction I've been able to provide has been very rewarding. For students who are less experienced, my focus is to encourage music exploration and to find music that excites young players and grabs their attention. Even though music performance is a challenging craft, it doesn't mean there isn't room for fun! Read More
Instruments: Trumpet Bass Guitar Double Bass
My first teaching experience was in 2009 as a music tutor at Schenectady County Community College where I helped students with music theory and ear training while earning my Associates degree in music. Also at this time I began teaching private students the electric bass guitar. At SUNY Fredonia I began teaching double bass lessons to non-music majors focusing equally on classical, jazz, and folk traditions. Since then I have worked at Peabody as a Graduate Teaching Fellow and was part of the Junior Bach outreach program, learningto teach music theory, ear training, analyisis, musicianship, and composition, including the use of notation software like Sibelius.
