I fell in love with music at a young age, hearing relatives sing and play, and began taking guitar and bass lessons as a teen. I then majored in bass and music at Onondaga Community College, which is known for it's music program. I have had the opportunity to tour the country with a band out of Austin, Texas, as a signed professional musician with a national act. I recorded a love show for XM Radio, and have had a song played on NPR. Read More

I like to follow a format for lessons, giving a certain amount of time to warming up, practicing technical studies and scales, etudes or lessons, solo literature and ensemble (duet, trio, ensemble) literature. I would encourage students to make an agenda for practicing, I believe many student need to learn how to practice, much like study skills, so they can make good use of their time. I teach students how to mark their music, how to break apart difficult sections and how to set goals for each week. Read More

I was raised in a very musical house. At the age of 5, I began piano lessons and continued through high school. I also studied clarinet from grade 5 until I graduated and played in the band. As an adult I had a few bassoon lessons. I also sang in Chorus and Choir from elementary school through high school. My other experiences with music were with theater and dance. I studied ballet (ballet en pointe), jazz and tap dance. Read More

I encourage my students to use their creative potential by participating in events such as open mics, playing in front of a crowd can be very frightening at first but open mics give you freedom to relax and play among people who love music as much as my students and I. Im always looking for new students of all ages, Ive said it so many times to so many people, Youre never too old to learn an instrument. Read More

Instruments: Trumpet
I generally like to star from where the student is. For beginners through intermediate, I like to start with the basic exercises to include using the Arban Conservatory Method for Trumpet and work on the fundamentals of good tone quality and good intonation. From there I like to work on clean technique while incorporating easy to difficult pieces of music to highlight and reinforce what techniques we are learning/improving. Read More
