I taught classical flute and recorder in the Austrian school system and music schools for 15 years. Later, I was the band director and music teacher for the grades 4-12 grades in the Syracuse City Schools. I conducted a concert band, jazz band and had over 70 students in my band programs. I don't have a particular piano book series I use. I find that most of them present beginning lessons about the same way. I tell very beginning students to only buy the piano book to begin with.
