For younger students I employ the Suzuki Method which comprises a series of books and particular approach to teaching that I've found to be quite effective. The books provide a very well thought out sequence of pieces that help the student learn all of the necessary skills to play the guitar in the context of actual music rather than abstract exercises, and the method encourages a lot of parental involvement which helps to make at home practice (the most important part of learning any instrument) much more effective. For Every student I start the same. It all starts with technique. If you have a great technique you can play anything with practice! with my much experienced students I don't go too forward with technique but try to find their weakness in their technique to strengthen it. For the Beginners, after the technique we go into what to play. with my adult or more experienced musicians I find out what they are interested in then go from there. Read More

I've always loved the art of music and how it's a language that anyone can relate too. That is what motivated me to get a degree in Performing arts, with the focus on classical guitar. Preforming and teaching has been one the most gratifying experience of my career. I've had the opportunity to play in Europe and all over the United States. But, teach is my true passion and the excitement when a student is excelling can't not me matched. Read More

I like to have a nice blend between two general areas of study with my students. I ideally like to spend half of the lesson time focusing on the more academic side of things and the other half on just playing tunes. Academic material would include things like sight-reading and basic music theory to truly educate my student about music while playing tunes (of the student's choosing) is a way to make it more of a fun environment. I feel that having this balance will alow me to train my students with a proper education while still being relaxed and having fun. Read More

I try my best to make sure that in the process of learn about the instrument, we also have fun as well. Working on rudiments, placement, keeping time, different grooves, active listening, dynamics are all important things that I love to start off with! When people think Learning the Basics, they think of the most boring and not fun things. Learning the basics is an excellent way of growing into a great musician! Read More

I have a very fun and unique way of teaching children. This makes it very easy for them to catch on quick and not lose interest. For adults, I jump right into the essentials of learning. I go over scales, and timing. I introduce solo techniques and I always review to keep the student on top of their game. Read More
