Associates Degree in music preformance MMC
WNY Guitar compition winner 2012
I've always loved the art of music and how it's a language that anyone can relate too. That is what motivated me to get a degree in Performing arts, with the focus on classical guitar. Preforming and teaching has been one the most gratifying experience of my career. I've had the opportunity to play in Europe and all over the United States. But, teach is my true passion and the excitement when a student is excelling can't not me matched. I offer my all my students the experience and tool to become a excellent guitarist.
My teaching experience dates back to my bedroom, as I began teaching myself the art of guitar by ear. Years later when I received my degree in music. I started on my path of teaching. Encouraging regular practice on a consistent schedule is one of the key points I like to emphasize for younger students, as it tends to help the student progress and gain a passion for the instrument. I've also found that a combination of classical and modern music can go a long way in helping students enjoy the piano and motivate them to practice and continue to learn. If a student isn't having fun in their lessons, then I'm not doing my job! My students are encouraged to enter competitions and recitals, as well as work on composing their own original material, so they can feel good about their accomplishments and stay motivated to learn. I'm always looking to bring on new students of all ages!
For beginning students who are children, I typically start with Mel Bays. Once the student starts to understand the book. I will begin to teach solo appropriate for their first recital performance. For adults, I try to find out what music they are interested in and have then tell me they're top song to learn, I try to get them to play something within the first hour. I want then to leave feeling like the you did something and that your money was well spent on my services. Wanting to come back to learn more from me.
Nothing is better than watching a students progress in music! It's so important that every student goes at they're own speed. I set realistic goals for my students at each lesson. Accomplishments helps fuel a students desire to progress, and makes students eager to learn more. By trying to find out what inspires the student, I can successfully tailor my instruction to their wants and needs.. I try to make the my student feel comfortable and not nerves about learning. Helping them understand that it takes time to get where you want to go.
Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.Ok
Are you sure that's your only availability? The more availability you easier it will be to arrange a teacher for you.
