My main goals with all of my students are to foster their love and appreciation for music and to teach them the skills they need to make whatever music they want to make. I want all of my students to be able to experience the joy that comes from music making so I do my best to ensure that they're using healthy, efficient, reliable, technique; that they become musically literate, and that they develop aural skills that will help them to better understand what they hear. I teach the student to maintain an open mind of a beginner, even if they are advanced students. I create personal programs for each different student based on their temperament, their interests, and the reasons they want to play guitar. For materials, I always begin with positioning and releaseing tension with simple exercises that resonate with the student's interests. Many times I will create exercises to target a specific weakness or difficulty, or take generic exercises and tutorials and make them into something more interesting that approaches the student's while targeting the bigger goal. As a classically trained vocalist and multi-instrumentalist, I have been instructing for 10 years, alongside my activities in performance. I have been instructing students and colleagues within the University setting, as well as in private lessons. I encourage students to listen to music and to dive into their respective sounds as much as they can because immersion is key to understanding how to embody their sound. If a student is missing that piece to their musical character, then that is where I come in, to stoke the flame, and focus it. Read More

I have also attended Summer Strings at NYU, Meadowmount School of Music, and the Castleman Quartet Program, during the summers, where I was coached by notable individuals such as Kikuei Ikeda from the Tokyo String Quartet and John Kochanowski (a protegé of Robert Mann, a member of the Juilliard String Quartet). Aside from my classical background, I also have experience in jazz, pop, and contemporary music, and have also performed vocal music and has played electric bass, French horn, and guitar. Read More

I began leaning in the Walter Beeler method when I was in fourth grade. I have been exposed to various different methodologies to teaching brass instruments. I would tailor my instruction to give each student the best opportunity to be successful. I will focus on exercises such as lip slurs, long tones and technique, all while trying to throw interesting musical tunes in to keep the student guessing and interested. Read More

Hello! I am a guitar player and composer who is very passionate about both the art of playing guitar and writing music . I like to have a balanced blend of sound (pun intended) technical guitar study with the fun of playing tunes and jamming. I bring to the table an in-depth journey to the realms of music theory while also staying loose and not get too bogged down with academic material. Read More

For Every student I start the same. It all starts with technique. If you have a great technique you can play anything with practice! with my much experienced students I don't go too forward with technique but try to find their weakness in their technique to strengthen it. For the Beginners, after the technique we go into what to play. with my adult or more experienced musicians I find out what they are interested in then go from there. Read More
