A Bachelor of Music obtained from Washburn University (Topeka, KS) and a Master of Music from Western Michigan University (Kalamazoo, MI). I received my Bachelor's in Performance from Eastman School of Music. Shortly thereafter I joined the Boise Philharmonic Orchestra. In Boise, I taught privately as well as at Boise State University. In addition to instrumental lessons, I taught classes in music theory, aural skills, and chamber music. Recently, I performed with the Symphony No. One chamber orchestra in Baltimore, premiering new works written for the ensemble. I am a classically trained, working percussionist with a passion for bringing music to life. I graduated from Wittenberg University in 2016 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in percussion performance and participated in multiple honors ensembles as principal percussionist while enrolled. I have performed professionally at a variety of events around Austin, Texas, including with the Austin Klezmer Band and the Austin Civic Orchestra. In my own music practices, I strive to be both technically skillful on all percussion instruments from the marimba to the snare drum to the cymbals and, yes, even to the triangle, as well as musically knowledgeable in order to manifest musical interpretations that are just as expressive as they are contextually appropriate. My performance and education career began as early as my freshman year of college. I have been fortunate to perform over 1,800 professional commitments in my career as well as teaching roughly 25 students. Some performance highlights of my career have been performing on four national tours, playing two contracts with the Hershey Park band, recording with different artists, and of course performing with the Marine Corps and the Air Force bands. I graduated from Temple University initially in 2011, but was drawn back several years later to complete my Master's Degree, which ended in 2015. I have performed all across the state of Pennsylvania, in Connecticut, New York, Delaware, and as far away as Italy. I have played with youth, collegiate, and community orchestras and bands and as a soloist. I love playing with community and church members as often as I can. Read More

As a young child, I was a music nerd, practicing all the time, listening all the time... until practicing started to feel like work and music got competitive. I stopped playing for several years and even when I returned to cello, studying music in college made it feel like I was doing it for all the wrong reasons. Now as I'm healing my relationship with music and building my curiosity and excitement about my instrument, I aim to center joy and enjoyment of music in all of my lessons. Read More
