I started composing electronic dance music and enrolled in courses to learn more while changing my college major. I started playing the violin at the age of 8 and now I have been playing it for 30 years. I started working with children when I turned 19 and to this day I have never stopped. I studied and worked at the same time, as well as playing in an orchestra, and I developed a strong work ethic. From 2005-2006 I served on the faculty at Music Academy of North Carolina in Greensboro. After completing my Master's Degree, I joined the faculty at Central Piedmont Community College in 2011, where I have taught several classes including Applied Guitar, Instrumental Repertoire, History of Rock and Roll, Music Appreciation, and Fundamentals of Theory. When working with younger students, my approach is twofold. First, I like to work with Alfred's Basic Series to establish a solid goundwork for reading music and mastering technique. Second, I like to cater the lessons to the student's particular interest, whether preparing solo pieces, practicing theory through ear training and sight reading, or writing compositions.
