I have taught many students over the years, and much of my experience has taken place in a real world rehearsal room environment. With well over 100 productions under my belt I've worked with casts on learning music and shaping songs. As a still working professional this experience makes me highly suited to adjust and respond to every students needs, and meet them where they are in their development. Through crafting 1,000's of performances I can bring you real world application that will best prepare you to find the confidence you need to perform, whether as a hobby or professionally. Read More

My philosophy of music education is to provide students with meaningful and relevant experiences. Every individual has a personal connection with music, and as an educator, I wish to further explore that connection. Music is a form of communication and expressions; it is an outlet for one to better understand themselves as well as the world around them. I look forward to making music with my students, and to work with them to find their own personal means of musical fulfillment. Read More
Instruments: Piano Keyboard
I have been teaching piano since I first graduated with a Bachelor's. Starting in my Hometown of Palo Alto, CA, I moved to New York in 2011, and have since been teaching a growing roster of students. The important part of the musical process, is learning how to be a self-teacher. I give students some methods to practice and encourage them to find the motivation within that allows the to keep with their studies. Read More

My teaching style combines different elements. I try to keep it fresh and work on music that the student enjoys. I will work on songs but also larger concepts including ear training, improvisation, reading, and chord knowledge/ theory. I don't try to force concepts on people, but introduce them if they are open/amenable to it. I believe that everyone coming to the guitar has different goals and are doing it for different reasons and so it seems ridiculous to have only one approach. Read More
