My teaching experience dates back to my college days, as I began teaching private lessons part time 40 years ago, and have been consistently teaching students in my home studio for the last 20 years. Encouraging regular practice on a consistent schedule is one of the key points I like to emphasize for younger students, as it tends to help the student progress and gain a passion for the instrument. Immediately out of college in 2008 I worked as a music teacher teaching guitar, bass, drums, keyboard, and voice for 3 years. In 2011, I moved to Peru where I was the #1 on call jazz trombonist in Lima, and was a trombone professor at the National Conservatory of music where I taught trombone technique and jazz improvisation.
