I believe that in order to effectively teach, one must also do. My extensive performance background allows me to read a student to see what their goals might be and custom fit a curriculum around them. Sometimes a method book is the right way to go. Books such as the Alfred series and Hal Leonard often offer easily attainable goals for younger students. My mission is to create a space where creativity, growth, and fun come together through music. I believe that learning an instrument should not only improve your technical ability but also help you grow as a well-rounded musician. In my lessons, I focus on building the skills you need to reach your goals while helping you explore those tricky musical questions you might not have answers to yet. I carefully track each student’s development and adjust my teaching style to support your personal growth, learning pace, and musical interests. Read More

There is no way that I could expect any of my students to possibly do that, but I do stress the importance of practicing often while keeping things fun. I also encourage my students to keep an open mind and listen to all genres of music, as there is something that can be learned from each genre, from metal to jazz to classical. Read More
