I excel at taking the most self-motivated students to the highest level, and I don't hold anyone back in order to stay with a pre-determined method. All students learn to count the beat in a FUN and entertaining way. I save the last few minutes of every lesson for "musical games", which are usually ear training. All of my students, even young children, can name strings, notes, and even chords by ear, all from playing this game. Read More

My teaching style is very process oriented. Goals are set, but are the natural outgrowth of well developed plans and consistent effort. I strive to inspire my students with the passion for playing and the act of making music, rather than the goals of perfection or winning a competition. Personally, music has always been a way for me to understand and enrich my life in more meaningful ways than I ever could have imagined. Read More

Those were some of the most nerve wracking shows. Read More

I have over 10 years of teaching experience at five different music studios, working with both private students and group classes. I teach using trusted method books from Proline, Berklee Press, and Hal Leonard, along with custom materials Ive developed over the years. My instruction covers music theory, jazz improvisation and line-building, and practical song analysis drawn from my professional gigging background. I regularly break down rock, blues, and metal songs for students while also helping them develop their own musical ideas and original compositions. Read More

I am classically trained with a secondary in jazz guitar. I have exceptional technique and use it for all styles of music. This is how my students climb the ladder faster than others. I also have an exceptional ear, I haven't heard anything I cannot play, so when you bring me something I'll be able to process it right away and begin showing it to you. I have extreme patience (been doing this for 20 years!) and will never make you feel dejected. Read More
