I have played in venues from small coffee houses to The Paramount in Huntington, NY.  I have played in many groups and ensembles as a premier performer and, of course, as part of the "tutti".  I have studied under Micheal Bellajonas at Suffolk County Community College and Jerry Willard at Stony Brook University in my classical guitar studies.  I maintain a violin/guitar duet with my wife, who is on her way to becoming a music educator.  I've taught all different types of students and am very open and patient to everyone's needs. Every student is different, so the first thing I like to do is get to know them as a musician, where they are on their instrument, and what they wish to accomplish in lessons. I want to keep the student comfortable with what they are working on and at the same time find ways to go beyond the comfort zone. I've been teaching private lessons for 2 years; first starting with a few students from the college. Recently have sung with RICCO (performing works such as Carmina Burana). I have been in many shows, such as Into the Woods (Cinderella's Prince), Brundebar (the baker), HMS Pinafore (Captain Cochran), and Gatsby (Nick Carraway). My goal as a teacher is to instill a passion for music and encourage each student to become their personal best. I find that it is important to get to know each student's goals so that we can work towards them as a team. I am constantly pushing my students forward, but I make sure to take the time and remind them where they came from. It is easy to get caught up in how far one still has to go to reach their dreams, but I find that if students remember how much progress they have already made, it really helps to motivate them!
