I like to find what they student is passionate about in music and start working towards honing the sound on the guitar. After the basics are learned we start creating the students very own style of the guitar depending on how they play and what genres of music they are trying to learn. This helps create a better musician. I like to encourage my students to play what they like because that is the only way they will enjoy the instrument. Read More

I'm a dedicated teacher, interested in teaching a variety of guitar styles (jazz, rock, traditional folk, etc) to students at all stages of musical growth. I recently graduated from the New England Conservatory of Music, where I studied Contemporary Improvisation and Music Theory, and received Pi Kappa Lambda honors. I emphasize an aural approach to music making, based on developing a relationship between one's ear (as expressed through the body - the voice, clapping, even dancing) and the guitar. Read More

I have been playing music for over 30 years, starting with the drums at age 12, and then guitar at age 14. I attended Berklee College of Music and graduated cum laude with a B.A. in Professional Music in 1995. My main areas of focus while in college was jazz composition and performance. I have been teaching professionally since 1996, and have since picked up other instruments such as bass, piano, and alto sax. Read More

Every student works at their own pace and I allow for a lot of flexibility in my lessons. However, once the student has communicated their long term goals for the guitar, realistic goals are set between each lesson. I assign projects to work on between each lessons usually a mix of technical practice, such as left hand and right hand techniques, and musical works the student is interested in. I find that students work well when they are working on things that interest them. Read More

I am a lifelong student of music. I began playing the guitar at a very young age, 7 years old, and was playing in public by the time I was 12 years old. Around this time I took a correspondence course in Arranging from the then Berklee School of Music, which did eventually also become my alma mater and I even began teaching for my teacher. I have played and performed throughout the new England states as a solo performer and in bands/ensembles, and have had some of my orchestral works performed by the Prague Symphony Orchestra, truly an achievement for a kid who grew up as a rocker.
