I love all genres of music. I've been playing guitar everyday for 17 years and it is my main instrument. I also play saxophone, bass, drums, and keys. My educational background includes an associates degree in music (including performance, theory, and history) and a bachelors in audio recording and business. My studio includes drums, guitars and basses, a few amplifiers and several vintage electromechanical pianos. I have the ability to record lessons. Read More

I have been teaching privately for over ten years. During my time at The Berklee College of Music I took classes in pedagogy, and every teacher I have had the pleasure of studying with has functioned as an invaluable model for how to teach, and the many different ways to articulate and illuminate the nuances of playing the guitar, and playing music. I also have experience teaching large and diverse groups of students and have worked as a clinician at music festivals and music camps such as North Hampton, MA's 'Django in June' where I was hired to teach in 2009, 2010, and 2012. My curriculum is entirely driven by the students needs. I don't believe that one blanket method works for all individuals. Therefore, I spend the early lessons getting to know the student and designing the layout for our lessons moving forward. There are definitely certain books that I have used to assist with teaching. These books are dependant on the level of the student. Some of these books are Ted Green's "Chord Chemistry", "Rythms Complete" by Bugs Bower, and the Hal Leonard guitar method books. Read More

The lesson concludes with an assignment. What will they focus on until next time. My students do exceptionally well! I give them a few items or techniques to practice. This could be tempo, theory, or a new piece of music to learn. Every session has a period of learning new music and practicing old music. My style of teaching is performance oriented to help the student to play the music that they desire to be able to play. Read More

My dad employed a very competitive method on me and my siblings when teaching us piano. And although it worked on me, it caused my brother to quit piano. I have learned through my teaching experience that some students need a push and some need a pull. Every student is unique. I admit that I am the most successful with a competitive method. The "I bet you can't play that right" method. Read More

After relocating to Dallas/Fort Worth, TX, I went on to play in various bands, ranging from all cover/variety bands, to all original bands, and everything in between, with range in many styles including blues, rock, country, folk, jazz, classical, and reggae. I have toured regionally around Texas, Arkansas, Tennessee, and Louisiana, and have been on two European trips to play. I recently relocated back to western MA (in 2021), and am again pursuing teaching and playing guitar. Read More
