I try to balance out the importance of theory and understanding music notation with having fun and working on songs or techniques that the students particularly desires to play. I began playing cello in elementary school and started teaching cello lessons while I was in middle school. I love to teach and share music with my students. I graduated Manhattan School of Music in 1977  and proceeded to get my Masters degree and teaching certificate. Years later I enrolled in the East Harlem School of Music (Johnny Colon) attending weekly guitar classes and studying Classical guitar privately with Leo Rivera. Years later I enrolled in a Classical guitar program at Julliard. I currently perform with 3 bands playing a variety of genres including Jazz, Gospel, contemporary and RB music and also produce a Time Warner CTV progra, which features guest vocalist and musicians from the New York City area.
