My name is Brad A.. I am a graduate of Florida Southern in Lakeland Florida, where I learned to play and teach voice, guitar, and all the instruments in the violin family. I am primarily a guitar player, but I still have a passion for the violin, viola, cello, and double bass. I play and teach the repertoire in the Suzuki Method on the violin. In the 1980s, I played electric guitar (classic rock) in a band called Purple Mountains, playing cover songs of the Rolling Stones (including their open tunings for the guitar). I also l played Bluegrass mandolin, fiddle and guitar on stage, since the 1980s, and continue to now, at Boba's Internet Café and PJ Dolan's Irish Pub/Grille, both in Tampa. Earlier on, I graduated with a BA from the City University of New York, where I took some music courses. Read More

I believe goals are very important in order to progress. However, each student progresses at their own pace. I like setting small goals weekly, and often times incorporate techniques into songs. Seeing students achieve their goals is one of the most rewarding aspects of the job. I'll ask students to bring pencil and paper to each lesson and will designate technical goals, fretboard knowledge, and whatever the student's goal is (learning a song, another scale, solo part, etc). I facilitate all lessons primarily for the individual student. Beginning with where ever they are starting at. Their individual goals, and how much practice time they have available. I like to make the lessons interesting, educational and enjoyable. Everyone is different and unique. And we all learn at our own pace. There is a creative process to music and I will go over the how and why of a section or an entire arrangement. Read More

At Five years old, I began learning the piano. I learned to read music and play reasonably well. Then, baseball came along. As I entered high school, I learned the guitar, starting with a Silvertone guitar with the small accompanying amplifier. I had sung in the church choir, so my Boy Scout friends then became my band mates during the 60's In the 70's, I went on the road with a talented rock band opening for large acts including the Allman Brothers Band and The Who. Hello, my name is Nate Bernard. I have been guitar instructing on and off for 15 years along with performing and recording music. I teach strictly by the book as I feel any student I teach who are just starting out, will have a better understanding of their instrument in the long run. I like to make learning the guitar fun, and put to ease the frustrations of doing assignments that will inspire any child or adult to want to learn more. Read More

Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students develop a passion for music! Therefore, it's important that each student progresses at his or her own pace. I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson. When working at my studio, the milestones each student accomplishes are recorded in an audio format that the student can keep as a trophy and to listen to his progress. Read More
