Overview:
I am a dedicated and motivated instructor who enjoy working with students and sharing my love for music. Worked as musician for 8 years in Caracas Venezuela, Trinidad and Miami Florida. I retired as a Principal Software Engineer from Staples, Now I and doing what I love, MUSIC. I have a home recording studio where I produce talented new artists and helping them thru their first steps to become popular artists. I produce my own albums. Currently for sale on iTunes, Amazon, Rhapsody, CD Baby and others.
EXPERIENCE
I began teaching private guitar lessons part time 10 years ago, and have been teaching students in my home studio for the last 5 years. Consistency before efficiency is been my philosophy of teaching, Practice makes perfect, Regular practice is one of the key points to gain passion for the instrument you are learning also the king of music you like to play is the type of music I will teach you first. I've also found that a combination of different styles of music can go a long way in becoming a great musician.
METHODS USED
I start my lessons with asking the student to give me their top 10 favorites songs that they would like to learn and based on their level I will select one song to start. I start with the essential elements of theory and basic chords. Once the student has progressed I will beging to introduce different styles of music to find out what the student is interested in, and build a lesson's plan designed specifically fot the student and keeping the motivation and fun classes regardless of their ability level.
LESSON STYLE
My teaching style is based on motivation and fun. It is important to me that each student progresses at his or her own pace. Setting realistic goals for my students to progress and make them interested in learning more. Learning your first song it is very important that's why I let my students will choose their first song to learn. I also introduce music theory at the same time, so the students understand what they are playing. I guide the students to perform with confidence, I teach exercise techniques to improve speed and strength.
