I grew up in Germany and started taking classical guitar lessons at age 10. After my dad took me to some Rock concerts, I wanted to learn the electric guitar. The two concerts that had the biggest impact on me during that time was seeing Yngwie Malmsteen and catching his pick as well as seeing Gary Moore. I have taught guitar since high school. I have had a ranging experience from teaching middle schoolers, to high schoolers, to adults. With each student, I assess where they are with their knowledge of the instrument, as well as how far their passion for music goes. In high school, I simply taught the fundamentals of the guitar as I knew it, making sure that my students played guitar correctly. From there, we work on correcting bad habits that develop from being self taught, things such as poor picking technique, finger placement, hand placement, minimal understanding of rhythm and basic theory concepts.
