In addition to partimento, I use other traditional methods. For beginner students who are children, I typically start with the James Bastien method. I like this method because it combines reading and playing the piano from the very beginning in a well-structured progression. Then it introduces important new concepts with fun (if charmingly old-fashioned) songs designed for teaching. As the student progresses, I like to use Hanon exercises for developing finger strength, and classical repertory for use in performance. Read More

I have been teaching for a few months now, and I really enjoy it! Forming and shaping the next generation of musicians is a crucial part to keep the American culture intact and alive. Music takes practice and discipline, and everything else will come to you as a domino effect. By sticking to your practice routine and making it fun, your own fingers will start playing wonderfully without you even much effort. Read More

I'm fairly flexible, laid back in my teaching style, and always passionate about helping those who need it. I always try to keep each student learning at least one new thing for each lesson, while allowing him or her to make steady and consistent progress without getting stuck in a rut. I always encourage steady and consistent practice throughout the week to further individual progress and get closer to desired results. Read More

It is my philosophy that every student is unique and therefore it is necessary to adapt lessons for each student. This individualized approach results with a personalized approach in order to accomplish the specific goals of the student. I teach both formalized and personal methods that guarantee results. I am well versed in music theory and various practice techniques. I believe that learning to read music and tabs can be helpful but not essential to learning how to play an instrument. Read More

My teaching style is based on having fun and enjoying music. I work with my students to set goals and reach them. I use my song based approach to encourage my students because one of the main reasons one picks up an instrument is to be able to recreate the music they love most. By doing this I can cater to my students' needs and desires as musicians. Read More
