My first true teaching experience happened around the age of sixteen, which was by tutoring my siblings friends and preparing them for NYSSMA. I found this to be a truly enjoyable experience and realized that this was a passion that I wished to pursue in the future. From there, I enrolled in several music education courses when I attended Berklee College of Music. I tailor my teaching style to each student.  When something clicks for them, I stick with it and adapt to keep the student engaged, interested, and passionate about music.  If I find a student is not fond of a certain book or solo, we change course together. Once I determine their level, I then introduce some method books, technique exercises and etudes. Combining these create a full spectrum of rhythm, dynamics, intonation, form, meter, expression and much more! I am a multi-woodwind instrumentalist specializing in saxophone. My training is in jazz and classical music but I have performed in a variety of different genres such as latin jazz, swing, improvisation, contemporary classical music and baroque music etc. I currently work full time as a quality control musician at DAddario in NY. At this job I play test clarinet and saxophone reeds and mouthpieces for production approval.
