I attended the Sydney Conservatorium of Music in 2010 where I studied Jazz Performance. I stayed in Sydney until 2020, where I did a lot of work as a session musician, (The Voice, Solange Knowles, Yolanda Be Cool, ++...) For beginning students, I typically like to work out of the Rubanks Elementary Flute Method Books. I also like to find repertoire which will interest each student, with solo repertoire and duets. As students progress, I like to work out of the Trevor Wye books as well as Taffanel et Gaubert Daily Exercises. In college I began my teaching career. I started teaching private lessons, band classes, and General Music classes. I continue to teach currently as well. Teaching music is truly my passion! Through my teaching I want to spark a passion for music in my students. It is important to me that my students truly enjoy learning music. Over the past ten years, I have had the privilege of working with students of all ages, and have been on faculty at the Manhattan School of Music Summer Program, the Larchmont Music Academy, All-Island Music, and an adjunct teaching instructor New York University’s Steinhardt School of Music. As a young student, I was an aural learner, if I heard it done, I could copy it. It was not until very recently that I have been able to grasp and oral way of learning. As young teacher, I find that I can be successful with students in both ways of teaching. It is much easier to inspire the student once I can grasp their way of learning.
