I am a passionate, self-motivated, energetic music instructor who loves work with students and sharing my love of music. Within those studies, my primary instrument of focus was the trombone, however, along the way, I picked up and worked on different types of instruments, such as the flute, all of the low brass, piano, and my vocal ability. I have taught music for the past three years (mostly in home lessons). Jazz is a very important component to my lesson plan, because I want all of my students to understand the concept of improvisation. I also recently worked for Music Center of the Northwest, a nonprofit community music school in North Seattle, specializing in student and community relations. As a lifelong band kid, I have a passion for sharing music with anyone who is willing to learn. In May 2017, I graduated from Mercer University with a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education. I experienced teaching all levels (K-12) during my time at Mercer; however, I completed my student teaching as a general music teacher at Porter Elementary School. Because of this, I am not only qualified to teach flute and piccolo, but recorder, as well! Read More

I have lead others and taught them before ever having my own classroom as a leader in High School and College. It has greatly pleased me that my students have had many accomplishments in many groups. I ecourage regular practice for all my students to review and refine their musicianship overall. I am always looking for new and exciting opportunities to teach those who are interested. Read More
