I am a passionate teacher and performer who loves working with students of all ages. I completed my Bachelor or Music degree at the University of Iowa in Music Education and Flute Performance. I then spent a year student teaching and substitute teaching which taking auditions for a masters program. I am currently enrolled at the University of Georgia in Flute Performance. My teaching experience started at age 12 with Alesia Byrd Johnson. I worked with toddlers and as they aged I would continue in their classes while adding the next group of children. Since then I have taught private lessons in homes, studios, private schools, and after graduating from Michigan State University- I taught public school orchestra, band, and choir from Prek-12 in Michigan and then Georgia. Oftentimes I tailor lessons that ive created in my past to create lesson plans for individual students. I oftentimes use action research methods in helping me determine whether or not the teaching method that is being used in the lesson is effective for the student receiving lessons.
