I am a passionate and motivated teacher, who loves working with students of all ages. I am primarily a saxophone player, but love learning new instruments. This, combined with gauging each student's skill level and needs, is the basis of my teaching style. I never use negative incentives with my students, as I believe that does more harm than good. My first teaching experience was teaching group recorder lessons in my home town, since then I have taught all over the world in many different systems. I particularly love working with beginner flutists and helping them to find their voice on the flute and discover the joys of playing. For elementary students, I usually have them work out of Standard of Excellence books or Rubank Elementary method books and supplement them with fun popular music they enjoy to play. For middle school and high school students, I encourage them to work on appropriate solos, scales, and duets we can play together.
