I am an ambitious and caring instructor who loves sharing the joy of music. Currently, I am pursuing a Bachelor of Music Performance focusing in Flute under the amazing Dr. Cobus du Toit at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Teaching music to students of all ages has brought me so much joy. I love seeing how music makes a great impact on the lives of those I teach. In addition to seeing music through each individual student's eyes, I foster a sense of community by encouraging communication, coordinating chamber music and performing recitals, and providing other means of continued learning. I make myself available via email and phone, always doing everything I can to continue the students' engagement outside of their lesson. For beginner piano students I generally work out the Faber Piano Adventures and for adults I use The Older Beginner Piano Course by Bastien. For Flute students I use the Trevor Wye Beginners Book for the Flute. Clarinet I use the Rubank Method books. Once the essentials are learned I will add in various solo pieces and other method books pending on each student and their music interests. Read More

I will share fun and efficient ways to practice so that you get immediate results. If desired, I also guarantee you will be playing a blues and improvising within a maximum of 6 weeks as long as you practice at least 10 minutes, three times a week.  You will have the option of playing along with recordings minus your part so that you can experience the joy of ensemble playing early on in the safety of your own home. I love creating small ensemble groups of students at similar levels and arranging concerts at regular intervals. For older and/or more advanced students, I like to create a balance of tone warm ups, scale work, etudes, and musical rep. I encourage students to bring pieces they are interested in learning into their lessons. If a student is also interested in non-classical music (e.g. Disney tunes, Celtic music, pop, jazz, etc.), I find music in those genres at their playing level for them to enjoy. I am a passionate teacher and musician and I have experience teaching students of all ages. In 2018, I graduated from the University of Delaware with a Bachelor of Music in Music Education and a concentration in flute. I'm currently enrolled at the Hartt School where I am pursuing my masters degree in Flute Performance. I co-direct the Hartt School's Flute Choir and teach private flute and piano students.
