I started teaching music classes in 1992. As a public school music teacher, I have taught students in grades 1-12. I taught concert band, jazz band, marching band, string orchestra, full orchestra, and general music. I have conducted a women's chorale and taught college as well. For 7 years, I trained music education students and supervised their teaching experiences. I hold degrees in music education and saxophone from the University of Wisconsin at Whitewater and humanities from California State at Dominguez Hills, as well as a number of year's study in saxophone and jazz improvisation and theory at the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music in Milwaukee. I first started teaching guitar in high school after i got a few lessons from someone i looked up to in high school. From then on i have loved to teach music to all ages!. Later, I will introduce an exercise book called the Rubank's Method, which helps with articulation and technical skill. I also will ask the student to pick a fun songbook which they will be motivated to practice.
