I am a dedicated flute instructor and performer who loves sharing her passion for music through teaching and empowering her students to meet their musical goals. I earned my Master of Music degree in flute performance from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign and my Bachelor or Music degree from the University of Colorado Boulder. My favorite highlights of my flute career so far include attending the 2019 Marrowstone Music Festival as a flute fellow, giving me the opportunity to teach younger students while performing in the Festival Orchestra, performing Principal Piccolo with the University of Illinois Wind Symphony at the 2019 College Band Directors National Association Convention, and performing for Sir. In addition, I have performed in the pit for the musicals Once Upon a Mattress, Fiddler on the Roof, Anything Goes, Oklahoma, and Beauty and the Beast. I have also worked closely with many composers and has premiered new works by Nolan Stolz, Masatora Goya, Sean Pallatroni, Brendon Randall-Myers, and made the world premiere recording of the Delian Suite, from a body of international composers in the Delian Society. For beginner piano students I generally work out the Faber Piano Adventures and for adults I use The Older Beginner Piano Course by Bastien. For Flute students I use the Trevor Wye Beginners Book for the Flute. Clarinet I use the Rubank Method books. My passion for teaching began in my Junior year of high school in 2011-2012, when I spent 6 months teaching guitar lessons to elementary school students at a local YMCA after-school program. With a class size of approximately 10-15 students, I learned many valuable teaching methods for students of all backgrounds and learning methods. Later that year, I said goodbye to my students to move to Boston and attend Berklee College of Music, however, in summer of 2014, I revived my passion for teaching when I started a saxophone lesson program at Brighton's All 'Bout Christ church. I began teaching private lessons when I was in high school. Since then I have gained more experience teaching privately and in group settings. In college I had the opportunity to direct and teach a community flute choir for adults. Currently I teach private and group lessons to high school students through the Boston Public Public School District.
