I love being able to send students on their way for the day knowing that they put their best foot forward. Sonny is a renowned trombonist in the New York City area who has played over the years with Clark Terry’s big band and now leads his own.             One of the highlights into my ventures with jazz was to study under John Mehegan, noted scholar, author and educator. I established the Stanton School Afro-Brazilian Drum ensembles, the Orff Ensembles and three choruses. I have also taught at the collegiate level at Eisenhower College for 8 years. I played clarinet with the Auburn Chamber Orchestra and the flute and piano as a soloist for community events, weddings and church services. I have always had a private piano and woodwind studio in my home and look forward to teaching private students once again. Read More

My teaching experience began in 2012 as a coach for students auditioning for middle school local honors bands. I have since been consistently teaching students of all ages for both auditions for honors ensembles/competitions and for basic flute training. Consistent practice is always a key focus with all of my students. I find that the best way to motivate students is by helping them the fun in learning! I have personal experience with participating in the various honors ensembles in the Charlotte and NC area, including All-District Band, and NC All-State Band. Read More
