When teaching, I start all of my students from the beginning, even if they have experience. The more the student already knows, the quicker we can move. It is extremely important to make sure each student has an very strong foundation and is comfortable with the basics of flute playing. Examples are finger and hand positioning, posture, etc. The language of music theory is used in all lessons as a tool for learning. Read More

I tailor my lessons to the needs of each student, no matter the level. I make sure to set goals that are attainable. I want my students to feel confident about their skills. I have been playing the flute for 12 years and have had great teachers who have inspired and challenged me to become the best musician I can be. I had the opportunity to study with Jan Vinci, a wonderful flutist who studied with Julius Baker and Paula Robison at Julliard. Read More
