In the past six years, I have taught privately at the School of Rock in Downingtown and Guitar center in Lancaster. I have also done some group lessons with a Lancaster based nonprofit called Music For Everyone. I try to challenge my students every week with sight reading and ear training methods. Besides from drum set, I have access to congas, djembe's, marimbas, vibraphones and many other percussion instruments, so my students can grow not just as a drum set player, but as a percussionist as well. I will encourage all my students, regardless of age or skill level, to perform at a recital or open mic; some type of live performance, as this builds confidence which is hugely important for an aspiring musician. For my drum students, I will begin with basic snare drum technique and essential rudiments, while teaching them the fundamentals of reading drum notation.
