Im a composer and musician, and I love learning and teaching how music works. I graduated from Point Loma Nazarene University in San Diego in 2018 with a Bachelors in Music composition and have been making and teaching music ever since. I started guitar and drum lessons when I was ten years old, motivated by the joy of rocking out and expanded to classical instruction in highschool. I love to bring that rock-out spirit to my classical experiences and incorporate classical strategy and awareness to my popular musical expressions. Read More

My teaching style focuses on learning and playing in a musical fashion. Whether the student is playing and exercise or a composition it always should sound musical. I want my students to internalize what they are playing so that it can become a part of them. They should become one with the music. I set realistic goals which will change along with the progression of the student. I believe in giving them positive feedback along with constructive critiques. Read More

I'm a passionate and motivated instructor who loves working with students and sharing my love of music. I spend my time teaching drums, recording drums and playing drums for local artists/bands. While in Los Angeles I performed with many independent artists and also had the privilege to work with some well know artists, such as Scott Shriner of Weezer, Nikki Sixx of Mtley Cre, and The Blue Man Group. For beginning piano students, I often get them started with the Faber piano series, then incorporate music theory along with their song requests. For beginning fretted string students (guitar/bass/ukelele), I like to start with the Hal Leonard method book to get started with reading notation, so that we cover more than just tabs and chords. For drum/percussion students, I'll have them start with a combination of Syncopation by Ted Reed and Peter Erksine's Drumset Essentials Volume 1. Read More

I have a varied teaching background with 11 years experience teaching various subjects at a professional level. I have instructed students aged 6-70+ during this time. Subjects taught include expert level map, compass and gps courses, basic outdoor and nature courses as well as outdoor safety sections. I approach teaching music using the same principles that I apply to other subjects that I teach. I prefer a strategy of solid work ethic, experience, fundamentals, honor, flexibility, understanding, responsibility, adaptability, a dash of recklessness along with intelligence and book study.
