BA, Rowan University, Applied Percussion & Commercial Music
Guest Conductor - Rowan University Percussion Ensemble Featured Soloist - Rowan University Percussion Ensemble Orchestra Concerto Competition Winner - Rowan University Orchestra
I am a professional drummer and percussionist residing in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania. I grew up in northern New Jersey and studied in New York City with well-respected educator Sam Ulano. I went on to attend Rowan University and studied percussion with Dean Witten (Frank Sinatra). During that period, I also studied vibes with Dave Samuels (Spyrogyra). I graduated with a BA in Applied Percussion & Commercial Music. I have worked up and down the East Coast, including well known venues such as the Atlantic City Showrooms and Westbury Music Fair. I have also had the pleasure of performing in Europe. I am the long time staff percussionist for Joey Casella Productions and have been heard playing with the Joffrey Ballet, Eddie Daniels, George Young, and Al Grey. Additionally, I'm the Timpanist for St. Matthew's Church and do studio recording with local artists and publishing companies.
In addition to my regular performance schedule, I also maintain teaching studio's that cover most of the Pocono Mountain area. As well as private lessons, my teaching resume includes Rowan University Prep School, Fergus and Clark Academy for the Performing Arts, Appel Farm Center for the Arts, and numerous music stores.
I have written 2 drum books which I use as part of a comprehensive teaching method. All students will learn an equal balance of snare, rock, and jazz drumming, as well as soloing. I encourage all my students to pursue their own style. More advanced studies will include Latin drumming and odd meters. Instruction is also available on mallet percussion, timpani, hand drums, and electronics.
My students continue to do very well. Former students can be found performing and teaching in major cities throughout the nation. In fact, they currently make up the majority of drum teachers throughout the Wayne, Pike and Susquehanna counties of NEPA. Younger students do well within their district/region/state. They regularly attend major conservatories, play clubs, cruise ships, or tour and record with label signed bands.
Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.Ok
Are you sure that's your only availability? The more availability you easier it will be to arrange a teacher for you.
