I strongly believe in the use of a metronome and the versatility of percussion rudiments so I usually have most beginning students start there. Currently, I am a member of the Raider's drum and Bugle Corp's (Burlington, NJ) percussion staff. The raiders are an open class DCI group that competes in the summer against other open class groups. My job duties include running rehearsals, providing weekly assignments to members, and providing individualized critique and information for students. This ensemble meets once a month from November to April then moving to every weekend, and then eventually a 3-4 week long tour over the summer. Read More

I have taught students from ages 6 to 60. my approach is to help each student with the proper grip and posture and to learn to adjust there instrument for maximum comfort. I begin each lesson with rudiments/rolls and spend equal time on basic music theory(beginner) and sight reading(advanced), 4-way coordination(beginner) and transcribing recorded music(advanced).
