My teaching experience goes back to my high school days, where I began to teach private lessons part time ten years ago. Since then, I have been consistently been teaching students in private studios. I encourage regular practice on a consistent schedule and motivate my students on a daily basis. I also found that a combination of classical and modern music can go a long way in helping students enjoying playing instruments. Read More

My teaching approach begins by meeting the students where they are in regards to musical capability. We soon push the boundaries of what they think they are capable of and allows them to apply the music theory in real time. A consistent schedule, whether it be during our schedule lesson or a follow up email packet, is the distinctive difference in my lesson plans. This practice regimen should continue long after our scheduled lessons and should be one of many vital keys to your child's future successes. Read More

The most rewarding thing in my life is seeing one of my students develop a passion for music! I believe it's important that each student progresses at his or her own pace no matter what. I set realistic goals for my students at each lesson as the next lesson will be intertwined with the last. It is encouraging when students gain praise for their accomplishments. It helps fuel a students desire to progress, and makes students eager to learn more. Read More

I've learn that the most important part of educating my students is to teach to their learning style and ability while giving them some strong encouragement and guidance. I first start with an assements of where the students skills are and their mindset. I try to findout what they want to due and what they like to due. Sometimes students dont truly know. This is important for me because it sets the foundation for how the lessons will be planned out week to week. Read More

My teaching studio is equipped with two drums sets and practice pads to accommodate marching or drum set students. I also have a full PA and two keyboards set up for piano students and accompanying purposes. Each student is given an assignment for the week (or specified time) and will then pass off this lesson assignment (barrier) before receiving a new lesson. Passing off not only includes demonstration of the lesson but also performing with me as I accompany them on the keyboards. Read More

The most important thing when learning a new instrument is having fun! That is the goal in all of my lessons. This is why after a review of what we learned in the previous lesson, I always introduce something new! Every week you will have something new to practice, whether it is based on the previous week's material or a completely new concept. It is important to practice everything you learn in order to develop muscle memory. Read More
