I encourage my students, whether private or the ones that I teach a school to practice on a consistent basis (have a consistent schedule for practice) because it tends to help the student progress and gain a passion for the instrument or their voice. I've also found that a combination of different musical genres helps to motivate a student and allow them to have fun. I also encourage my students to enter competitions and recitals to give them a way of measuring where they are in comparison to others. Read More
